1. Joseph Lyons (1879 - 1939)

Joseph Lyons was an Australian politician who became the 10th Prime Minister of Australia, serving from 1932 until his death in 1939. He was born in Stanley on the West Coast of Tasmania.

2. Egon Erwin Kisch (1885 - 1948)

Egon Erwin Kisch, also known as the "Raging Reporter," was a Czechoslovakian journalist, author, and one of the most renowned war correspondents of his time. He spent a significant part of his life on the West Coast of Tasmania working as a miner and laborer. Kisch's experiences in Tasmania heavily influenced his later writings.

3. Mary Donaldson (born 1972)

Mary Elizabeth Donaldson, now known as Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, was born in Hobart, Tasmania. While not directly from the West Coast, she is included due to her significant ties to Tasmania. After marrying Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, Mary became a member of the Danish royal family and has been involved in numerous charity projects and philanthropic efforts.

4. Sir William Crowther (1808 - 1885)

Sir William Lodewyk Crowther, an early settler of Tasmania, served as a member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly and Legislative Council. He played a prominent role in Tasmania's colonial government and was instrumental in the exploration and development of the West Coast region.

5. Belinda King (born 1958)

Belinda King is an Australian former professional road cyclist who achieved considerable success during the 1980s and 1990s. Born in Queenstown on the West Coast of Tasmania, King represented Australia in multiple international cycling events, including the Olympic Games. Her achievements contributed to the growth and popularity of women's cycling in Australia.

6. Denny King (1945 - 2011)

Denny King, born Dennis Charles King, was an Australian author and political activist. Hailing from Queenstown in the West Coast region of Tasmania, he wrote extensively about the environmental impact of mining and the struggles faced by mining communities. King's activism and writings made him a well-known figure in the environmental movement of Australia.

7. Henry Hellyer (1790 - 1832)

Henry Hellyer was an English surveyor and explorer who was involved in the early exploration of Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania). He played a significant role in the surveying and mapping of the West Coast region, including the establishment of settlements like Strahan. His exploration work contributed to the understanding and development of the area.
